Once injected into the skin, the botulinum toxin relaxes the tiny facial muscles, which cause expression lines, leaving the skin looking smoother. Most patients find that the small injections only cause mild, temporary discomfort or a stinging sensation. After treatment, you may experience some tenderness for 24-72 hours.
Bruising happens when the practitioner traumatises a vein. An experienced practitioner can help to avoid this by identifying the veins beforehand. Nevertheless, bruising is always a possibility but isn't common.
Profhilo starts to spread within 15 minutes of injection and then takes 4-6 weeks to work as the products need to diffuse and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.
After the consultation and consent process, the length of one session is approximately 30 minutes with 10 minutes for numbing of the skin beforehand with a topical cream. This allows the procedure to be more comfortable for you. The practitioner will then clean and disinfect the skin and mark various precise measurements in the treatment areas with a white pencil. As the injection points are small and superficial, the procedure is relatively comfortable. Once the treatment is completed, the skin is then cleaned and disinfected again and massaged. You are then given aftercare instructions.

It used for Aqualysis or Aquaplasty treatment to reduce localised, stubborn fat deposits in areas such as the chin, stomach, outer and inner thighs, hips, back bra area, arms etc.
A reduction in fat deposits can usually be seen after just one treatment, however usually between three and eight sessions are required to see the optimal effect. The speed at which results are seen will vary depending on the stability of the cell membranes; younger patients are more likely to results after a longer period. Results may vary from physician to physician and case by age.
It is suitable for patients who do not want the more invasive liposuction or laser lipo treatments, who do not have large amounts of fat to remove and who are over 18 years and under 60 years of age. The treatment is not suitable for pregnant or lactating women or those with a pathological condition.

No, Aqualyx and Aqualysis are aimed at reducing stubborn pockets of fat.
Minimal side effects have been reported globally since its introduction, but patients can expect a little skin irritation, itchiness bruising and swelling, which will ease after a few days. The treated area may feel tender and firm for up to eight weeks after your treatment.
The treatment area will be cleaned and topical anaesthetic will be applied for comfort. The solution will be injected using a very fine needle. The area will feel warm and you may experience a slight burning or stinging sensation. We add lidocaine to Aqualy× for local anaesthetic so is a comfortable procedure to have.
The injections are also done quickly and accurately by your practitioner.
After treatment the area may redden and swelling and bruising may be experienced.
Aqualyx works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can result in swelling that lasts 3-5 days. This swelling can be obvious when having facial treatments (e.g. chin).
During this time, you may want to organise time off work / social engagements.
Swelling can be reduced with the use of a cool pack wrapped in a clean cloth and used for a maximum of 20 mins. Do not use any anti-inflammatory tablets for 48 hours. Do not apply make-up or skincare to the treated area for 12 hours - then only use a clean brush or sponge for application until day five.
Pressure is recommended for the first 48 - 72 hours to help reduce pain in the first 12 hours and reduce the edema effect. Lymphatic drainage or massage of the area is also recommended for 2 to 3 weeks post treatment.
Aqualyx is an injectable solution used to dissolve localised fat deposits in areas such as the hips, saddle bags, thigh, knees jowls and chin. The body then expels the released fatty acids naturally.

Subtle and natural enhancement of the volume and border or the lips
Patients are often concerned about having “thinner lips” which can be challenging to enhance. Here we have a slight enhancement to the lips creating a slightly fuller and more symmetrical appearance, and enhancing the side profile.
Fillers can be used to gently and naturally define and lift lips that may already be “full” creating a more aesthetic profile.
There is a difference between the botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. The former relaxes the muscles whereas the fillers fill and plump up lines, wrinkles and grooves to make the skin look more youthful. Fillers usually consist of sterile hyaluronic acid gels made from non-animal sources. As we age the skin's natural hyaluronic acid is lost giving rise to the appearance of lines, wrinkles and folds. Injecting fillers into the skin acts to replace the hyaluronic acid that is lost with age. They are also used for lip enhancement and for shaping facial, hand and neck contours. lines around the mouth and top lip, known as 'smoker's lines'.
The injections, which only take a few minutes, are usually administered after a local anaesthetic has been applied either directly onto the skin, or incorporated into the syringe containing the filler. This serves to reduce or prevent any discomfort. The effect of the treatment is visible immediately. Depending on the area treated, skin type and the injection technique, the filler effect can last between six and 12 months (usually six months for lips). Follow-up treatments will help to maintain the plumped up look over time.

Dermal filler products can also be used in lip augmentation.
Following your consultation and when you are happy to proceed, the treatment session will typically take about thirty minutes. During the session, Belotero® is injected into the specific area using a needle or cannula.
This tissue integration means Belotero® is suitable for very superficial injection with the confidence of smooth evenness after your treatment. Belotero® is available with an anaesthetic which helps reduce any sensation of pain.
There is little downtime following a Belotero® treatment, however it is recommended that you should avoid wearing makeup for at least 12 hours after treatment and avoid exposure to heat, UV rays and prolonged exposure to the sun for two weeks after treatment.
Immediately after treatment with Belotero® the area may feel numb due to the lidocaine within the product, this is temporary and will settle after a few minutes/ hours.
The area may feel slightly swollen or 'fuller', with possible bruising around the treated area, but again this is only temporary and may be experienced for a day or two after treatment. The treated area should not feel hard.

The effect will depend upon the individual and the area treated, for example in nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines), clinical data demonstrates results and visible improvements up to 12 months after a single treatment with Belotero® Balance.
Belotero® products are based on hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the skin. There are however, some injection related reactions which may occur and include slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising and pain at the injection site. The properties of Belotero® allow optimal spreading into your tissue. You may feel some itchiness around the treated area but will be left with even results.
Before treatment, you should inform your aesthetic practitioner if you are taking any medication and if you have any allergies, especially to lidocaine. You should always discuss any side effects and/or post treatment reactions with your practitioner. Don't be afraid to ask your aesthetic practitioner questions.
